SLQS-Qatar cordially invites you to the Certificate Course in Commercial Arbitration (Online) conducted by SLQS Qatar jointly with Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice (ICLP) in Sri Lanka. This course covers 16 hours in whole, having 4 sessions on Fridays.

1. Introduction to Commercial Arbitration – Party Autonomy.
2. Construction Adjudication, FIDIC Rules etc.
3. Arbitration agreement, severability, appointment of the arbitral tribunal, jurisdiction.
4. Arbitration Procedure under Act no 11 of 1996, IBA Guidelines on Taking of Evidence.
5. Resignation, challenge of Arbitrators and removal – IBA Guidelines on Conflict of Interest.
6. Setting aside the Award and Enforcement of Arbitral Award.
7. UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, UNCITRAL Model Law and New York Convention.
8. Case studies.
